Summary

Bodegas Arraez is a producer based in Font de la Figuera in Spain’s Valencia DO. The 30 hectares of estate vineyards lie on very poor soils 90 km from the Mediterranean at an average altitude of 600 to 800 meters above sea level.  They cultivate 40+ year-old vines from local varieties such as Monastrell, Tempranillo, Garnacha Tintorera, Verdil, and Moscatel, as well as small amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. Apart from these vineyards they also source grapes from local independent growers (since the 1950’s) from Alicante, Jumilla, and Utiel-Requena to produce wines under the Arraez name.

Toni Arraez Calabuig, the Managing Director since 2007, has been a revolutionary for the brand, contributing his personality and his rakish vision of wine as being “something to enjoy- not stress about”, which make Arraez’s wines fun and approachable, without losing the essence of the growing area and a long family tradition. During its 67-year-old history the winery has been managed by three generations of the Arraez family.
