NOTES
FARMING: Sustainable
SOILS: Sand and Silt
VINEYARD: The 2.5-hectare Cà Moréi vineyard is located in the Valgella sub-zone at 550 meters asl in the commune of Teglio. This dialect name means ‘The House of the Morelli’, and it identifies the house where Mansueto Morelli lived with his family at the beginning of the twentieth century. His daughter Emma married Pietro Fay in 1947. Because of the topography and the terraces, mechanization is impossible and everything in the vineyards is done by hand, from growing the grape to harvesting.
VINIFICATION: Grapes are usually picked in the second half of October. Alcoholic fermentation is completed in stainless steel tanks over a two week period, with 7 days of maceration. Malolactic fermentation and aging for 12 months is completed in 500L oak barrels.
