TASTING NOTES: The wine is dark with notes of dark fruits like plum, raisin and blackberry. The supple tannins and hint of oak lead to a round, smooth finish.
PRESS/RATINGS: Saturated red-ruby. Plum, currant, tobacco, herbs, black olive and chocolatey oak on the slightly wild, gamey nose; claret-like and inviting. The wine's suave flavors of cassis, black cherry and chocolate are nicely leavened and energized by spices and herbs. This seems riper and sweeter than the 2016 version, which should give it early appeal, but it already shows lovely definition. And it has the stuffing and finishing grip to evolve slowly in bottle. (13.5% alcohol)
