NOTES
The ‘do Tareco’ range pays homage to the small wine producers of Vila Alva who have continued making wine in their unique tradition throughout the ages: producing wine in their homes, using the same artisanal winemaking technique - in small pots of clay which are locally known as “tareco”. These wines are available in small quantities and represent the “new” Talha wine in its purest form. These are the wines which are served and consumed in local 'Adegas'. The wine is removed from the pots just after S. Martin's day (11th of November) and is bottled right afterwards (the wines have about 2.5 months of skin contact). These are light and fresh wines but with all the character of Talha wine.

VINEYARD: The vineyards are close to Vila Alva - the village where the winemaking team grew up. The parish of Vila de Alva is located on the left bank of the Alvito river. The vines are on average 30 years old. The soil consists of shale and granite.

VINIFICATION: Manual harvest in small baskets. Total de-stemming and a light press. Spontaneaous fermentation with indigenous yeasts. Maceration with the skins and seeds for two months in clay pots (talhas), without temperature control. It was not subjected to any filtration or stabilization process. Filtration occurs only through the passage of the liquid through the masses present in the talha.
