Notes
VINEYARD: The 17-hectare single vineyard is situated on steep slopes overlooking the Sèvre river in the commune of La Haye-Fouassière and is a warm microclimate perfect for growing ripe grapes. The vines average 45 years of age and are planted on sandy soil overlaying orthogneiss. The name "Bégrolles" comes from the Latin word gracula, meaning "crow". Combined with the prefix "be", this refers to the vineyard's uneven terrain resembling a crow's beak.
VINIFICATION: Grapes are picked when fully ripe, then undergo traditional fermentation after light must racking. Aged on the lees for 7 months with regular stirring.
TASTING NOTES: Soft, mineral nose featuring ripe fruit (pear, yellow peach) aromas. Fruity and medium-bodied on the palate. Elegant and beautifully mineral.
