Our Team

Andrew Bishop
Founder & CEO

Andrew grew up in Simsbury, Connecticut, toured in a rock band, had a stint in the 1990’s as bar manager at “Boston’s first real wine bar,” Les Zygomates, and in 2000 sourced and bought a container of wine in Western Australia, brought it into the U.S., and sold it all. Andrew is the founder and owner of Oz Wine Company. If he is not in the office or traveling abroad, he is most-likely riding his bicycles.

Andrew Pierce
Spirits Division Manager

What I Do At Oz
I manage the Spirits Division. This entails promoting our spirits, seeking out new spirits to bring into our portfolio, working directly with our suppliers, and assisting our sales team with all things “fortified.”

My background in wine & spirits (just spirits?)
Many years spent working in bars and restaurants have afforded me the opportunity to learn about wine & spirits from some of the most passionate and knowledgeable people in the industry. While behind the bar, I worked alongside bartenders with decades of experience who taught me much. Outside of working in the industry, I have visited many farms, vineyards, distilleries, wineries and breweries over the years.

Things I enjoy about food and drink
I love cooking and eating what is in season and unique to a place. When traveling somewhere new, figuring out where to eat and drink takes priority above all else, and is often the entire reason for visiting. Celebrating what nature provides and the people who work in collaboration with it is what it’s all about.

Fun fact about me
I like learning about herbal medicine. No pets, just plants… lots & lots of plants. I sort of enjoy running. Squirrels and Bees are my favorite. I really like Maine. I have some incredible people in my life and I feel very fortunate about all that.

Martin Langer
Sales, Greater Boston

What I do at Oz
I’m the sales rep for many great restaurants and retailers in Boston, Cambridge, Somerville, and beyond. I’m very honored to get to work with the best and brightest minds in the local wine scene. I’m also involved in the research and scouting we do to constantly bring new great wines to Massachusetts.

My background in wine
Like many others I got serious about wine while working in restaurants. Being exposed to great wines and food nightly at work really made an impression on me, and I was officially obsessed with learning about wine by the time I was 22 or so. I moved up to Boston in 2002 and spent a few years at a great little wine shop before joining up with Oz in 2005.

Things I enjoy about food and wine
I require a steady diet of Italian wine and Iberian food. Chenin & Scallops. Manzanilla and tater-tots. I really like chardonnay. I love well made natural wines. I don’t have a favorite grape, but it’s sangiovese. I need to consume one nice bottle of riesling per week or I get cranky.

Fun fact about me
I have several dozen followers on instagram.

Christopher Hoffman
Sales, North/Merrimack Valley

What I do at Oz
I sell fine wine on the North Shore of Boston and the Merrimack valley. I have been with the company since 2015.

My background in wine
I grew up in the hospitality business as was around food and wine from a young age. I started to seriously enjoy wine while working for Aquitaine Group in Boston, and I fell in love with Burgundy and Bordeaux. Working for Oz has expanded my wine horizons and palette and now I love to work with the little honest gems in our book.

Things I enjoy about food and wine
Living next to the ocean my interests lean towards classic seafood and wine pairings. Fresh boiled lobsters with drawn butter and a bottle of Paillard Champagne is stunning every time.

Fun fact about me
I love spending time in the outdoors with my family. My beautiful wife, my two daughters and I are partial to the beach and ocean oriented activities, but we also love hiking the forest trails of Cape Ann and occasion further north.

Michael O’Day
Sales, Greater Boston

What I do at Oz
Focus on sales and account management in the Boston area.

My background in wine
I got started in the wine business in 2007 when I became a "cellar rat" at my local wine shop. I spent so much time there they decided to offer me a part time job. Ensconced in bottles of old world wine, our Oz rep (Andrew Bishop) always brought us delicious, off the beaten path varietals that made you step up your knowledge. Quickly the Oz portfolio, and others like it, became the reference for further discovery. In early 2010 I accepted an offer to hit the streets with the Oz sales team to help continue the growth in the Boston retail and restaurant scenes.

Things I enjoy about food and wine
Drinking Loire whites or Manzanilla sherry with anything that can be shucked.

Fun fact about me
With a passion for travel and learning, I’ve been able to utilize my profession to experience some of the most remote and prominent areas of South & North America, and Europe. Also, currently working on completing all of the 48 New Hampshire 4000 footers and perfecting my broken Portuguese.

David Saul
Sales, Metro West

What I do at Oz
Sales from Metro west to the greater Worcester area

My background in wine
I truly caught the wine bug while working as a prep cook in a wine bar while attending the University of Maine. Then, I decided to make it a career when I started working at a Metro West restaurant under Lorenzo Savona.

Things I enjoy about food and wine
I am wine nerd and still love to spend my off days making charcuterie, big meals and learning about new wine regions

Fun fact about me
Beside my wine obsession, I enjoy cooking, fly fishing and playing dominos.

Adam English
Sales, Berskshires/West

What I do at Oz

I have the privilege of sharing Oz's amazing wines with the many great restaurants and retailers of The Berkshires and The Pioneer Valley.

My background in wine
After having spent my teenaged years working in restaurants, I was bit by the wine bug while working retail in my early 20s. The generosity of knowledge from my boss and a couple of sales reps, plus a bottle of Sybille Kuntz was enough to get me hooked. I spent a few summers in tasting rooms and on crush pads out in the Pacific NW and had a long tenure as National Sales Manager for a Willamette Valley winery. I traded in long flights and hotels for long drives and my own bed when I started working with Oz in 2019.

Things I enjoy about food and wine
I want to be cooking dinner before we've had lunch. I love pickled things, cured things, fish in cans, and pork butt. Too many favorite wines to name in the Oz book however I never don't want to drink a bottle of Padeiro.

Fun fact about me
I follow Martin on Instagram.
