VINEYARD: A blend of several old Mâconnais vineyards. The appellation Coteaux Bourguignons was created in 2011 and includes red, white, and rosé wines, grown over four départements. The Coteaux Bourguignons is an appellation for wines that may be blended or made from a single varietal, and which can use some more old-fashioned varietals. This wine is grown on an infinite variety of soils from the chalky soils around Joigny in the North, to the granites of southern Bourgogne, but in the case of Guillot-Broux, the vineyards are planted to the limestone-rich and marly soils that are home to the majority of this appellation.

VINIFICATION: Neutral oak barrel aging for a few months.

TASTING NOTES: Upon opening, there's a whiff of smoke, leading on to vibrant earth tones of clay and warm stones; a hint of barnyard funk and concentrated red berries. Savory, with pepper spice notes emerging on the back palate. Simultaneously fresh and structured.
