Brut Nature Terres de Famille VB03

Varietals
90% Pinot Meunier, 10% Pinot Noir. Pinot Meunier is the most planted varietal not only of the Vallée de l'Ardre, but of the domaine as well. Pinot Noir comes in third for the domaine, behind Chardonnay and before a small planting of Petit Meslier.

Notes
VINEYARD: The domaine owns plots in Lhéry and Courtignan in the Vallée de l'Ardre, west of Montagne de Reims. The Lhéry soils are characterized by sand and limestone, while the Courtignan are clay and limestone. AB certified organic viticulture by Ecocert. The plots are oriented south/southwest and therefore benefit from generous sun exposure for physiological ripening of the grapes. The slopes are gentle, facilitating the manual work required for organic viticulture. This also allows for natural drainage, thus leading to perfect hydration of the vines from surface to roots.

VINIFICATION: VB03 means Vin Biologique 03: this is the third trial made by Elemart Robion to produce a pure organic biological champagne in a land where the climate sometimes requires a lot of vineyard interventions to preserve the stability of production. VB03 is a blend of the 2015 and 2016 harvests and is the first with 0g/L dosage (versions 01 and 02 were classified as Extra-Brut). Fermentation in stainless steel and 24 months on the lees. No filtration or fining.
