Elemart Robion

Summary

The estate is located in the village of Lhéry in the heart of the Ardre Valley, southwest of the Montagne de Reims. The vineyards, worked by the parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents of current owners Catherine and Thierry Robion (4th generation), were converted to organic in 2010, with the official certification in 2014. Catherine and Thierry, joined by their eldest son Eloi, have chosen organic farming practices to protect, reveal, and enhance the particularity and minerality of their soil. In the vineyard, manual plowing and weeding are carried out at the end of winter, and natural grass cover is set up at the end of flowering. The soil is cared for with herbal teas, plant extracts and essential oils, and compost made on the estate.

At the winery, each grape variety and each parcel is differentiated and vinified separately to allow the purity of the terroir to express itself. Vinification is done slowly and naturally, in a non-interventionist approach. There is no filtration or fining, and only stainless steel is used for the vinification and aging of the entire production.

Elemart is the combination of the two first syllables of Catherine and Thierry's three sons’ first names; Eloi, Leopold, and Martin.
