Domaine la Guintrandy
Summary
Since 1850 the domaine has been a family estate and is located in the Cotes du Rhone Village of Visan. Today, Marie-Claude and Olivier Cuilleras are the fifth and sixth generation of owner winegrowers.
Domaine La Guintrandy is situated between Visan, Tulette and St Maurice, the Guintrandy domain is composed of 32 ha of vineyards, 14 of which are of the appellation Visan, situated on the Deves plateau (with an altitude of 220m) and composed of very limy, rocky soil, predominated by blue clay, with sand and clay in some places, extending to the slopes and dry plateau. Some of the parcels are over 80 years old.
Domaine La Guintrandy converted to organic viticulture since the summer of 2010, the domain uses manual labour and deep tilling in order to help aeration and help the roots to find what they need deep in the soil. The harvest is done by hand, with either entire grapes, or with destemming depending on the cuvée.
