NOTES

VINEYARD: Linda Vista Vineyard Chardonnay, along with younger vine fruit from an adjacent vineyard. All of the fruit was farmed by Matthiasson.

FARMING: CCOF certified organic vineyards.

VINIFICATION: Matthiasson used the traditional method of harvesting the fruit a number of different times during the ripening period. The earlier harvests contribute acidity and minerality, and the later harvests contribute flesh and richness. Whole-cluster press for all of the grapes, then fermented and aged in seasoned French oak barrels, with only native yeast. No battonage or racking. Two-fifths of the barrels went through malolactic fermentation.
