Toscana Il Randagio

VARIETAL
50% Cabernet Franc, 40% Merlot, 10% Sangiovese

NOTES
VINEYARD: Located just outside the medieval town of Radda in Chianti between Siena and Florence, the property covers an area of approximately 100 ha and is comprised of wooded hills, small rivers, and fertile plains. There are around 20 ha of mainly Sangiovese vineyards, but also planted are small lots of international varieties.

VINIFICATION: After selective harvesting by hand, the grapes are carefully processed in the "Guercio" style (for this reason, this wine is affectionately also called "Il Guercino"): grapes are fermented in cement tanks with 20% whole bunches with a very long maceration period of 4 months. Subsequent maturing takes place in concrete tanks for 12 months. Organic and biodynamic principles are implemented in the vineyard. Nothing is added to the wines.
