Notes
VINEYARD: The Steinleithen Vineyard lies east of the small wine-growing town of Mollands with a view of the Kamp Valley towards Schönberg and Zöbing. Loamy soil on stony subsoil, mica slate and gneiss, gives rise to spicy and mineral Veltliner. It's about 300-320m asl. Certified biodynamic.
VINIFICATION: Following the manual harvest, the grapes undergo spontaneous fermentation in a combination of stainless steel and used Austrian oak barrels for two weeks. Then the still fermenting juice is bottled and left with the yeasts and the natural sugar so that the fermentation continues in the bottle and produces natural carbon dioxide. It is a very natural way to produce sparkling wine - without any additives.
