Extra-Brut Les Monets
Varietal
Pinot Meunier. Pinot Meunier is the most planted varietal not only of the Vallée de l'Ardre, but of the domaine as well. Pinot Noir comes in third for the domaine, behind Chardonnay and before a small planting of Petit Meslier.
Notes
VINEYARD: 'Les Monets' lieu-dit in Lhéry. The domaine owns plots in Lhéry and Courtignan in the Vallée de l'Ardre, west of Montagne de Reims. The Lhéry soils are characterized by sand and limestone, while the Courtignan are clay and limestone. AB certified organic viticulture by Ecocert. The plots are oriented south/southwest and therefore benefit from generous sun exposure for physiological ripening of the grapes. The slopes are gentle, facilitating the manual work required for organic viticulture. This also allows for natural drainage, thus leading to perfect hydration of the vines from surface to roots.
VINIFICATION: Fermentation and vinification in stainless steel. Rests on the lees for a minimum of three years. Dosage of 2.5g/L classifying as Extra-Brut.
