Summary

August Cellars is a family owned winery created in 2002 by the Clarence Schaad Family. The winery is located on land bought by Clarence Schaad in 1942 and is located on Chehalem Mountain, which is part of the new AVA Chehalem Ridge.

The farm is currently run by Clarence's two surviving children, Lewis and Grace. The farm is approximately 42 acres of contiguous farm land. They have 21 acres of mature English Walnuts, 13 acres of Italian Prunes, a 13 acre Pinot Noir vineyard that is leased out and about 6 acres of woods and the winery itself which is located at the bottom of the orchards just off of Highway 99W.

The winery is managed by Lewis' two sons, Jim and Tom Schaad. Jim is the winemaker and head of the company. Tom is the facility manager coordinating all of the daily activities at the winery. Annual production is about 2500 cases per year
