NOTES
VINEYARD: Ankeny Vineyard (previously called Settlers Hill Vineyard) has an interesting history. Oregon Trail pioneer Thomas Cox, set out on a six-month journey with his family to resettle from Missouri to the promising land of Oregon. He left the Spring of 1847 and arrived in 1848. He purchased a parcel of 321 acres of land on Ankeny Hill in Salem. He planted apple, pear, and peach orchards and even developed his own peach variety he called Cox's Golden Cling. There is still one peach tree left on Ankeny Hill that still stands today at 150 years old.
The soil type is volcanic.
VINIFICATION: Following the manual harvest, grapes were de-stemmed, foot-crushed, and macerated for 4 days. Fermented in neutral oak barrels.
