Wines
Summary
Yohan Lardy is of a new generation of terroir-focused producers in Beaujolais. His father, Lucien Lardy has been making wines from his estate vines in Fleurie for many years, so Yohan is not stranger to Beaujolais.
After finishing his oenological studies in Beaune, Yohan spent time working for a biodynamic producer in Chile, before returning to his native Beaujolais. He started with 2 ha of old vines - planted in 1911 and 1950 - on the heights of the Moulin a Vent appellation in the prestigious plot called "Les Michelons"Today Yohan owns and farms about 8 ha of vines split between Fleurie, Moulin à Vent, Chenas and Beaujolais-Villages.
All the work in his vineyards are based on organic and biodynamic principles. Ploughing to harvest is all manual, and he uses only natural fertilizers and with no sulfites additions at crush. In the cellar he follows the classic Beaujolais method of carbonic maceration, using whole bunches, ambient yeasts and spontaneous fermentation.
